Smart Manuals in Your Pocket: Revolutionizing Equipment Operation with ARM

Technology 17. 10. 2025

Industrial maintenance and machine operation are not only technically demanding but also resource-intensive and prone to human error. Traditional training and service methods often fail to sufficiently optimize the efficiency and safety associated with complex industrial environments. The ARM (Augmented Reality Module) introduces an innovative, fully functional solution that combines Augmented Reality (AR) with the Internet of Things (IoT) to create a smart assistance tool that makes industrial operations more effective, safer, and entirely user-friendly.

How does the Augmented Reality Module work?

AR-Powered Digital Workflows
Augmented reality projects realistic 3D objects and digital manuals directly into the user's field of vision. This ensures that every worker can access interactive step-by-step instructions directly on the factory floor without needing extensive prior training.

Real-Time IoT Integration
Unlike traditional offline solutions, the ARM features seamless IoT connectivity. It communicates directly with connected machines and PCs in real time, enabling advanced data collection and live diagnostics overlaying the physical equipment.

Advanced Remote Assistance
The AR technology enables junior technicians to share their exact view with remote experts. The expert can project machine blueprints, service documents, or draw annotations directly into the worker's spatial environment to accelerate troubleshooting.

Dynamic Editing & Flexibility
The system empowers users with the ability to edit and customize workflows. It allows companies to continuously update training models without taking physical machinery out of production, minimizing costly downtime.

Why is this module revolutionary?

More Effective Production: The integration of AR and IoT sets a new standard in industrial maintenance that is faster and significantly reduces production downtime compared to traditional servicing methods.

Enhanced Workplace Safety: Thanks to intuitive controls and spatial awareness, operators can keep their hands on the tools and their eyes on the task, drastically reducing the risk of workplace accidents.

Environmental Impact: Reducing the need for physical travel of specialized technicians and eliminating paper-based documentation leads to a lower carbon footprint and more efficient resource management within the enterprise.

Unprecedented Knowledge Retention: The immersive spatial 3D environments help workers retain up to 100% more information compared to traditional classroom learning, streamlining the entire onboarding process.

The Future of Industry 4.0

The ARM (Augmented Reality Module) represents a new milestone in industrial digitization, enabling enterprises to manage operations with reduced downtime, greater safety, and superior productivity. This innovative and fully deployed approach has become a standard not only in heavy manufacturing but also in other demanding fields, such as aerospace maintenance or logistics and warehousing.

  • Technology for a smarter industry.
  • The augmented world as a key to efficiency.
  • The future of manufacturing is already here.

Project Title: ARM – Augmented Reality Module

Programme Name: Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovations for Competitiveness

Call Name: Proof of Concept – Call IV – Activity b)

Project Number: CZ.01.1.02/0.0/0.0/20_359/0023846

Project Schedule: January 1, 2021 – June 30, 2023

The objective of the project was to develop and verify an innovative AR module enhanced by IoT connectivity for industrial use. The fully functional solution delivers not only more effective maintenance of machines but also supports the rapid onboarding of employees, which is critical for their seamless integration into the production process.

As part of the project, a comprehensive verification and validation of the module (including real-time data collection and remote assistance features) was conducted. Emphasis was placed on technical feasibility, the benefits of utilizing AR in heavy industry, and the integration of physical models into a digital environment. Today, the technology stands ready to reduce operational costs and dramatically improve workplace safety.

The ARM – AUGMENTED REALITY MODULE project is co-financed by the European Union. The purpose of the ARM - Augmented reality module is to simplify production, operation of complex machinery, and employee training. It significantly contributes to the overall reduction of company costs, increases employee productivity, and finally, significantly increases workplace safety.
